Tajweed for Brothers - Level 1

Synopsis: This is a free brothers only course covering the rules of recitation and the correct method to read al Quran.

To be able to recite the Book of Allah Ta’ala as it was revealed to the Messenger of Allah (Peace and Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him and his noble Family) is an obligation upon every believer.

Detailed Description:  Each lesson will be split in to two sections.  In the first section new rule of Tajweed will be taught with given examples from the Quran.  Most examples will be from Juzz 30.  The second section will involve the students reading to the teacher turn by turn starting with Surah Al Fatiha and progressing through Juzz 30 from the back. So Students will start with Surah An Naas and work towards Surah Al Naba’

  • Wk1: Introduction to Qirat Al Hafs, reason for learning the science of Tajweed.  The excellence of the recitation of Al-Quran. Introduction to the 5 points of articulation (Makharij al huroof)
  • Wk 2 - 4: Each Makhraj will be studied in more detail.  The characteristics of the letters (sifaat) will also be taught.
  • Wk 5: Rules about Nun Sakin and Tanween
  • Wk 6:  Rules about Meem Sakin
  • Wk 7:  Rule regarding the recitation of the letter ر
  • Wk 8-9: Rules about the 9 different types of Madd letters
  • Wk 10:  Hamza Al Wasl, Hamza Al Qat’ and ال al ma’rifa
  • Wk11:   Rules regarding stopping, and knowing when to stop.
  • Wk 12:  Assessment
